SESE Welcomes the Class of 2021

The 2021 School of Environmental Science and Engineering (SESE hereafter) Opening Ceremony was held at Tsung-Dao Lee Library on September 15.

In her opening speech, Secretary Weiwei Hu extended warm welcome and congratulations to all the new students. In the face of various challenges put forward by the new era, the new generation of Chinese youth should solemnly accept this inheritance, establish confidence and take responsibility, said Hu.

Executive Vice Dean Xinde Cao introduced the history, faculty and scientific research of the school. The ambition of SESE students is to take root in the motherland and contribute their wisdom and strength, said Cao.

Vice Dean Ping Liu introduced the training programs for undergraduates and postgraduates, including objectives, plans, awards and grants.

Weiwei Hu and Xinde Cao presented letters of appointment to Yitao Pan and Nan Sheng, the class advisers of undergraduate, Jinming Luo and Yancai Yao, the class advisers of master program, and Heng Zhong, the class adviser of doctoral program.

Yitao Pan, said on behalf of all the new teacher advisers that they would earnestly perform their duties, pay attention to the growth of students and spend an unforgettable and beautiful campus life.

New doctoral student Xingyue Zou shared her story with SESE and encouraged her peers to be indomitable researchers. The graduate stage is no longer to obtain existing knowledge, but to create new knowledge to explore the future of human cognition, said Zou.
